KB Detailing and Valeting takes pride in offering expert paint enhancement and correction services to bring the life back to your paintwork, this intricate multi step process requires skill, experience, specialised equipment and products.
This type of service is not typically available at local car washes, in fact its usually these car washes that contribute to swirls and scratches on your vehicles paintwork.
Our Process
Assessment
At this stage we will examine the whole exterior surface of the vehicle and measures paint depth to ensure sufficient clearcoat and paint are available for safe restoration.
Compounding
Depending on the size of the vehicle and the extent of the damage, this step may not always be necessary. Wet sanding targets specific areas with heavy imperfections such as deep paint scratches, while compounding offers a gentler approach. The remaining clear coat and the severity of the imperfections are considered before deciding if compounding is needed.
Protection application
This final step in the paint correction process safeguards your vehicle from further imperfections by applying a minimum 12 month protection of ceramic coating.
Wash and decontamination
This step is crucial as we use an quality clay bar to eliminate stubborn contaminants and industrial build-up. This process ensures the surface is smooth, allowing the polishing machine to move easily whilst preventing contaminants from damaging the surface.
Polishing
This stage may require several steps, depending on factors such as clearcoat type, damage severity and vehicle size. A combination of machine pad and polishes are used, removing marring, holograms, light swirling and abrasions from the compounding stage. Polishing also adds a protective layer to the car's paint for months.
